Ladies of the Canyon

Ladies of the Canyon docu-concert returns onstage at Harmony House from September 30–October 24 on select dates.

Joni Mitchell, Mama Cass, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Carole King, The Eagles – these are just a handful of the extraordinary songwriters who took up residence in the legendary neighbourhood of Laurel Canyon in California. Located just outside Los Angeles, this artist commune created a musical alchemy that birthed some of the greatest songs and artists of the 20th Century.

Alicia Toner and Mike Ross have created another one of Harmony House’s signature docu-concerts, taking audiences on a deep dive into the music of this unique time and place, that produced music that became the soundtrack of many people’s lives.

Featuring four of Atlantic Canada’s accomplished musicians Brielle Ansems, Robin Anne Ettles, Emilea May, and Alicia Toner, this distinguished quartet will tell the story of this incredible time in music history and celebrate the songs that came out of Laurel Canyon.
