Hit Play: Sirens Sing the Pops
Sirens closes its 2025–2026 season with Hit Play: Sirens Sing the Pops, an energetic and heartfelt concert celebrating pop favourites reimagined for choir. Performances will take place on June 6 at 7:30 pm at UPEI’s Steel Recital Hall, and on June 7 at 3 pm at the Alberton Welcome Centre.
Featuring music that spans decades and styles, Hit Play includes “Landslide,” “The Times They Are A-Changin’,” “What Was I Made For?,” and “Pink Pony Club.” From classic folk to contemporary pop, the program offers fresh choral interpretations of familiar favourites, highlighting rich harmonies, rhythmic energy, and the unique possibilities of ensemble singing.
Founded on PEI and inspired by the enchanting voices of Greek mythology, Sirens is an award-winning treble choral ensemble led by Kelsea McLean. Known for its rich tone, expressive musicality, and polished ensemble sound, Sirens has gained national recognition through CBC Radio 2 broadcasts, performances at festivals and conferences across Canada, and collaborations with acclaimed artists and ensembles. Since releasing its debut album Boundless (2020), Sirens has received multiple Music PEI Awards and an East Coast Music Award for Choral Recording of the Year.
