Fall Field Days: Shriner’s Parade

The Northeast Shrine Association (NSA) Fall Field Days will take place in Summerside from September 25–28. The NSA, founded in 1936, represents over 11,000 Shriners from 16 Temples across the northeastern United States and Canada, and anticipate welcoming over 400 Shriners and their families to the Island for a special occasion.
This year’s gathering is especially significant as it marks the first time in history that the Fall Field Days will be held in PEI. Traditionally hosted in Halifax every 16 years, this is a unique honour and an exciting opportunity to showcase the Island’s hospitality to an international audience.

A highlight of the weekend will be the Shriners Parade, showcasing colourful units, fun vehicles, and high-energy performers. While it may not match the scale of the Gold Cup and Saucer Parade, it promises to be a large, vibrant and engaging spectacle for Islanders of all ages. The event also features clown competitions, motor unit competitions, and other displays that are both entertaining and rooted in traditions of fellowship and fun.

The parade steps off at 2 pm on September 27 at the Credit Union Place and follows a route that will end at the Loyalist Inn.
The Shriners are well known on PEI and have developed a tradition of service to children and families requiring specialized paediatric care, particularly in the area of travel support and financial support to the Shriners’ Children’s Hospital Network in Canada.
