Elmira Railway Museum’s 50th Anniversary Celebration
The PEI Museum and Heritage Foundation invites everyone to attend Elmira Railway Museum’s 50th anniversary celebration on August 6 from 10:30 am–12:30 pm.
The event includes rides into the past on the miniature trackless train, railway speeder, and trolley, train and station history interpretation with a costumed guide, family-friendly games and activities, a selfie station, and free cake. Holman’s ice cream will be available for purchase.
For many years, Elmira Station served as the end of the line for Prince Edward Island’s railway. Today, the fascinating story of railroading on the Island is depicted through old photographs, maps and cultural objects. Visitors can also experience the historic Elmira Railway through replicas of the station master’s office and a ladies’ waiting room.
Regular rates apply to all attractions. The rain date for the celebration will be August 8.
