Documentary Premiere: Sukwi’sim
The premiere of Sukwi’sim (Auntie’s Place) will play in the Rotary Auditorium at the Charlottetown Library on September 26 from 6–8 pm. It is a new documentary about Mi’kmaq traditions and cultural reconnection, from the PEI Museum & Heritage Foundation’s Island Digital Voices series.
The inspiring film tells the story of Madlene Sark and the Sukwi’sim Healing Lodge, a sanctuary rooted in ceremony and healing for Indigenous people, families, and future generations. The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Madlene Sark, giving the community the chance to hear directly from the visionary behind the lodge.
Admission by donation, with all proceeds going to the Aboriginal Women’s Association in support of their Healing Lodge. Come be part of this powerful evening of storytelling, culture, and community healing.
