DancEmergence takes the stage at The Arts Guild in Charlottetown on July 12 at 1 pm.

DancEmergence is a studio showcase featuring dancers who have returned to studio life, their art, and themselves.

The performance features interdisciplinary dance forms from around the globe, including new works by Annanaya Bindal, alongside impactful guest solo performances, helping to infuse global perspectives into Charlottetown’s expanding dance scene. The performances are fresh takes on global dance traditions, including Kathak, Tango, Bollywood, Garba, Ballet, Salsa, and Bellydance. They highlight the skills, training, expertise, and energy that exists in the Island’s dance community. These life-long dancers each paused the dance they loved, and then found the courage to restart again while living on PEI. Each piece marks something lived, something shed, something finally ready to be seen.

The showcase is part of the Guild’s CultureShift program, supported by the Province of PEI. The dancers are associates of Buenos Island Studio in Charlottetown.

Cash donations will be accepted, to support Hospice PEI’s Dancing With the Stars fundraiser.
