The PEI Bluegrass & Old Time Music Society Fundraising Concert

The PEI Bluegrass & Old Time Music Society fundraising concert scheduled for February 1 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Stratford will feature Janet McGarry and Friends and Bluegrass Revival. The concert will begin at 2 pm.

For over 20 years, Prince Edward Island’s Janet McGarry has been a dominant presence in bluegrass music, releasing twelve albums on her own label, Diamond Productions. Janet is the only Canadian member of Daughter of Bluegrass, a leading group of female bluegrass artists recognized on Blue Circle Records, Nashville, TN. Janet is a five-time Female Vocalist of the Year at the Eastern Canadian Bluegrass Awards. She is accompanied by her husband, Serge Bernard, an accomplished instrumentalist who plays mandolin, guitar, fiddle, dobro, bass, and his instrument of choice, the banjo. Janet expects to include other Island bluegrass music friends to join her on stage. A second band will be added to the concert and announced on Bluegrass Society social media when confirmed.

Admission to the concert is at the door. All proceeds go to the PEI Bluegrass Society fundraising program for the 38th Annual PEI Bluegrass & Old Time Music Festival, scheduled for July 3, 4, and 5 at the Dundas Fairgrounds. There will be a 50/50 draw and raffle tickets for a Martin guitar. The Carriage House is wheelchair accessible.
