Charlottetown independent bookstore Bookmark will present an evening with New York Times best selling author, Emily St. John Mandel.
The virtual event will take place on October 21 at 7 pm and will be moderated by UPEI English professor, Dr. Greg Doran. Access to the event is available to anyone who has purchased The Glass Hotel from Bookmark by registering at bookmarkreads.ca or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Emily St. John Mandel is the author of four novels, including Station Eleven, which was a finalist for a National Book Award and the PEN/Faulkner Award, won the 2015 Arthur C. Clarke Award, the Toronto Book Award and the Morning News Tournament of Books, and has been translated into 31 languages. Her new novel, The Glass Hotel has been long-listed for the 2020 Scotiabank Giller Prize. A previous novel, The Singer’s Gun, was the 2014 winner of the Prix Mystère de la Critique in France. Her short fiction and essays have been anthologized in numerous collections, including The Best American Mystery Stories 2013. She is a staff writer for The Millions and lives in New York City with her husband and daughter.
