Veteran news and sports radio announcer, Dave Holland, celebrated his 50th anniversary in radio on September 29, 2019. To mark this career milestone Ocean 100 has declared September 27 as Dave Holland Day.
Ocean 100 General Manager, Jennifer Evans says, “Dave Holland Day” is well deserved. “Dave’s voice is instantly recognizable and he has reported on some of the most significant news and sporting events in our Island Community for the past five decades. Dave’s commitment and talents have been a tremendous asset to the radio industry in PEI, but also to our island community as a whole. He’s reported, announced, and volunteered with hundreds of community and sports events over those 50 years.”
On September 28, Red Shores Racetrack and Casino honored Dave’s commitment to the harness racing industry by featuring one of the races in Saturday’s card the “Dave Holland 50 Years in Radio Pace.”
Red Shores Marketing and Brand Manager, Lee Drake says, “Our company feels that Dave has been a force when it comes to sports coverage, especially harness racing, through the years. It’s our way of saying thanks.”
Dave Holland can still be heard every weekend on Ocean 100 providing Islanders with live and local news. He also continues to be the game announcer for the UPEI Men’s Hockey Panthers.
