Character Traits Deluxe
Logan Richard

PEI singer-songwriter and guitarist Logan Richard released the new single “Yet to Let Me Down” on April 8 and celebrates the one-year anniversary of his album Character Traits with the announcement of Character Traits Deluxe, arriving May 22 via Outside Music.
“I wrote this song with my friend Isabella Samson,” explains Richard. “I was a big fan of hers, and saw she was coming to PEI, so I reached out to see if she’d be interested in writing together.”
He continues, “The song was recorded live off the floor in Charlottetown a few months later, and it’s been sitting on my hard drive ever since. I am so excited it’s finally seeing the light of day.”
For the “Yet to Let Me Down” video, Richard drew inspiration from the stripped-back, in-room performances of Theo Katzman. “I loved the style of his videos—everyone playing together in the same room, captured simply,” says Richard. “I wanted to try that approach. My dear friend Ben MacDonald came into the studio and filmed it on an iPhone.”
Nearly a year after its initial release, Character Traits Deluxe offers a deeper look at the album, reframing key moments while introducing new ones. “The Grass is Blue” trades its restlessness for a calmer, more lived-in take, anchored by a rhythm section featuring Afie Jurvanen (Bahamas), Chris Kirby, and Joshua Van Tassel. The previously unreleased “Yet to Let Me Down,” recorded shortly before the original sessions, joins the tracklist, while “Up From Here” is fully re-recorded as a poignant duet with Rose Cousins.
“Yet to Let Me Down” was produced and mixed by Adam Gallant and mastered by Heather Kirby. It features Logan Richard on guitar and vocals, Emily MacLellan on vocals, Aaron Comeau on piano, Sam Langille on bass, and Josh Langille on drums.
