CFUW Celebrates 100 Years

The 100th anniversary of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) was celebrated recently.

Doris Anderson and Lucille Hogg, charter members of CFUW Charlottetown which was founded in 1955, were presented with awards for their exemplary contribution to CFUW by the National President of CFUW, Grace Hollett.

CFUW is a non-partisan, independent voluntary organization with close to 100 clubs across Canada that advocates for women’s rights, education, and empowerment. Every year CFUW awards $1 million in scholarships.

Over the years, CFUW Charlottetown has donated $150,000 in scholarships and awards. Since 2014, the club has provided funding through UPEI for 2 post-graduate scholarships awarded annually, valued at $6,000 each.

New members are welcome. University degree is not required.
