PEI photographer John Morris and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society (CMOS) President Jim Abraham, who launched Canada’s Hurricane program, recently released the Eastern Canada Weather Calendar to celebrate 150 years of weather services in Canada. Proceeds from the calendar will go toward an education fund at CMOS, which started on May 1, 1871, when the Government of Canada founded the new weather service.

The calendar features photography by Morris and historical weather details of past storms in Atlantic Canada put together by Abraham.

“As someone who loves capturing the storms of our region, I am happy to be able to create this project to celebrate 150 years of weather services in Canada,”says Morris.

The calendar is available across Eastern Canada in shops and bookstores including Coles, Chapters, Indigo, Bookmark, Northern Watters Knitwear, Co-op stores, and more. It can be purchased online through Amazon or Etsy.

Morris’ photography has appeared around the world in publications such as the New York TimesWashington PostGlobe and MailMacLean’s and more.
