Anna’s Pink and Purple Glasses is a story about empathy, inclusion, awareness and optometry. Many children are fearful about going for their first eye exam. Leanne has seen this firsthand. This book helps to allay children’s fears regarding the exam and encourages the acceptance of glasses. Anna’s experience is positive. She is excited about her new pink and purple glasses and can’t wait to show them to her friends at school.
Marlene Bryenton had a story, Secret Garden Angel, published in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Angels All Around. She is working on a second book children’s book entitled, Jaya’s Magic Wheelchair. Both books are about her grandchildren—Anna and Jaya.
