Greg Bungay has recently released an album of mostly his original songs, written over the years as a long-time musician.

Though Greg Bungay has been active in the Island music scene for close to 30 years, this is his first solo project. Eight of the eleven tracks on the recording were written by Greg, along with one co-written with Gordie Cox. Gordie also contributed one song along with an instrumental song written by S. MacLean.

A number of Island musicians added their talents to the making of this CD including Jon Mathews, Ian Toms, Kirk White, Gordie MacKeeman, Serge Bernard, The Brass Band, Peter Bevan-Baker, Mark Parsons, Doug Millington, and Dale Sorensen. Choir for track 3 was Annie Bungay, Mary Bungay, Maureen Bungay, Greg Bungay, Jon Matthews, Greg Stapleton, Andrew Waite and Nikki Waite. Cover art is by Annie Bungay, photography by Zach Hancock with graphic design by Wade Babineau. The album was recorded, engineered, mixed and mastered at The Soundmill Studio in Emyvale with Jon Matthews.

You may know Greg’s name from his years with Boys in the Kitchen of which he is a founding member. That group plays regularly at Island venues. But this release is “A Radical Departure” for Greg. The songs reflect a number of genres so there should be something for every taste.

The CD is available at CD Baby online and from Back Alley Music and Real Instruments in Charlottetown or contact caperzon@gmail.com. Watch for launch details in the near future.
