A Lick and a Prayer
Dark comedy series filmed on PEI to premiere in July

Cazador Inc and DRT Productions announce the upcoming premiere of the new dark comedy series, A Lick and a Prayer. The rollicking five-episode short-form series kicks off in Canada on Bell Fibe TV1 on July 9 with new episodes released weekly.
Led by a pair of hilariously unsuited sibling detectives, this five-episode short-form series tackles a sudden Prince Edward Island crime wave with authentic East Coast humour and small-town chaos.
A Lick and a Prayer follows reluctant sleuths and siblings Buzz and Mack MacDonald as they investigate a sudden crime wave in their idyllic coastal village. Facing off against an unseen threat and a growing conspiracy, Buzz and Mack are forced to haphazardly bumble their way through an investigation they clearly don’t understand. But when the bodies start piling up and thefts increase, they are forced to rely on their friends and the local priest for help.
The series is set in North Rustico, PEI, during the harsh winter months—long after the tourists have gone and the local businesses have shuttered. When isolation sets in and the fog gets thick, it becomes the perfect time for a criminal to strike unseen. However, this community full of colourful eccentrics and cranky old fishermen won’t go down so easily.
Series highlights include the dynamic duo, starring Rob MacDonald and Melissa Mullen as the quick-witted yet hot-headed siblings; the community crew, featuring a vibrant supporting cast, including their long-suffering friend Hank (Rob MacLean) and the mercurial, bardic Father Barry (Cam MacDuffee); and local flavour, the series is grounded in authentic East Coast humour and set against the backdrop of the legendary local Lion’s Club of North Rustico.
