Music Mondays
A variety of music styles at Victoria Playhouse

Some of Atlantic Canada’s best songwriters, solo performers, and small groups will take the stage at Victoria Playhouse on Mondays this summer.
On July 6, the Janet McGarry Band presents An Evening of Bluegrass & Old Time Mountain Music. This lively, family-friendly show presents bluegrass, gospel and country music in an acoustic setting, up close and personal with the audience, centred around a single condenser microphone, featuring banjo, mandolin, guitar, and upright bass, with tight three-part harmonies.
Performing on July 13 is Nova Scotia’s Terra Spencer. Although her butterscotch voice, deft fingerstyle guitar, and gospel-charged piano, make her a formidable musician, it’s her onstage ease, spirited spontaneity, and crackling East Coast wit that make each show intimate and memorable.
On July 20, indie-folk artist Daniel James McFadyen brings expressive lyricism, charismatic stage presence, and road-worn storytelling to the Playhouse. His 2025 sophomore album, Back To The Country, marked a defining moment in his artistic evolution and he continues to carve out his place within the modern folk landscape.
Nova Scotia singer-songwriter Kristen Martell will be on stage July 27. Known for her feathery, soothing vocals and heartfelt lyrics, Kristen weaves together intimate and moving songs that linger. After two successful English studio albums, Kristen released an enchanting French album that pays tribute to her Acadian roots in 2025.
Music Mondays continue in August with performances by Catherine MacLellan on August 3, Inn Echo on August 17, and Scott Parsons on August 31.
