“Piano in the Garden”

Richard Wood

PEI fiddler Richard Wood is set to release the new instrumental single “Piano in the Garden” on June 1. It will be available on all major streaming and digital download platforms.

Known internationally for his Celtic performances and high-energy live shows, Wood takes a more cinematic and reflective approach with this latest recording. Composed by PEI musician Ward MacDonald and newly arranged by Wood, “Piano in the Garden” blends expressive fiddle with rich atmosphere and emotion, creating a track that feels both intimate and expansive.

Moody, bold and slightly gritty, the piece moves beyond traditional genre boundaries while remaining deeply rooted in Wood’s musical style. The track was recorded at Studio Dimanche, mixed and mastered by Brent Chaisson, and features Wood on fiddle, piano, organ and synth, with Chaisson on guitar, bass, drums and percussion.

The release also marks part of a broader creative direction for Wood, with additional singles planned ahead of a future full-length project.
