Watermark Theatre

First two plays of the 2026 summer season

Leni Parker will star in Relatively Speaking

Watermark Theatre’s 2026 Summer Season features Alan Ayckbourn’s Relatively Speaking and Kristen Da Silva’s Sugar Road.

In 1960s London, Greg is paying a visit to Ginny’s parents to ask for her hand in marriage. The only thing is, they’re not Ginny’s parents. Blithely misinformed, he arrives at the home of Philip and Sheila hoping they’ll give their blessing, but no one is quite what they seem and nothing quite goes to plan. Relatively Speaking is a well-crafted, funny, and perfectly-paced comedy of misunderstandings that weaves an entanglement that will leave audiences guessing to the last minute. The show runs on select dates from June 23 to August 29.

Kristen Da Silva’s Sugar Road is filled with laughter, romance and a little country music about the one that got away. A country singer and a young woman meet in a magical chance encounter before being separated by his rise to fame. Now it’s 12 years later, he’s at the top of his career, she’s keeping the lights on at the family business, and they’re about to meet again. The show runs on select dates from July 3 to August 29.

Under the direction of Artistic Director Robert Tsonos, a shared ensemble anchors both productions, with cast members stepping into roles across each play: Leni Parker (Sheila in Relatively Speaking, Caroline in Sugar Road), Paul Van Dyck (Philip in Relatively Speaking, Ray in Sugar Road), Kait Post (Ginny in Relatively Speaking, Hannah in Sugar Road), and Dustin Freeland (Greg in Relatively Speaking, Jesse in Sugar Road).

The creative team for both productions includes Set and Costume Designer Sabrina Balliana, Lighting Designer Kahentanó:ron Brianna Montour, Sound Designer Pat Caron, and Production Stage Manager Susan D. Currie.

The Watermark Music Series also returns for another series of concerts by local PEI musicians interpreting the works of famous songwriters. Details will be released soon.
