Flora’s Walk PEI
Flora’s Walk for Perinatal Mental Health will take place at the Beaconsfield Carriage House, 2 Kent St, Charlottetown on June 6 from 11 am–1:30 pm.
Flora’s Walk raises funds and awareness for timely perinatal mental health care in Canada. Seventy per cent of proceeds raised will stay in PEI to support Family Service PEI’s counselling programs for new parents, while the remaining funds will support national initiatives. The Charlottetown event will include opening remarks, refreshments, a stroller-friendly walk (under 2 km), and a door prize/gift basket draw. The event will take place rain or shine, with indoor activities planned. Flora’s Walk is a national campaign taking place in more than 50 cities across Canada. The walk is named in memory of Flora, who died from undiagnosed postpartum psychosis two months after the birth of her daughter. The walk aims to raise awareness, reduce stigma, bring together community, and connect families to available support.
Community members are encouraged to attend, donate, and help spread the word.
