
Nature PEI Meeting: “Great White Shark in Maritime Waters, and other Species at Risk” with Biologist Paige Crowell
On May 5, Nature PEI will host a short meeting at 7:30 pm followed by the presentation ”Great White Shark in Maritime Waters, and other Species at Risk” with biologist Paige Crowell. The evening will take place at Beaconsfield Carriage House in Charlottetown, and after sharing sightings and a short raffle break, the program will begin at about 8 pm.
Paige will share a collection of photos and information about the Great White Shark and where it has been seen off Prince Edward Island, and also talk about other species at risk that frequent the Gulf of St. Lawrence, including the Blue Whale, North Atlantic Right Whale, and Leatherback Sea Turtle.
Paige Crowell is a biologist with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans’ Species at Risk Program. She grew up in Charlottetown, PEI, and now lives in Halifax, NS.
Nature PEI meetings are free and welcome all ages. Annual memberships for those who wish to further support the organization’s goals and projects are available via cash or cheque at the meeting.
