Chaos Corralled

Wendy Jones painting and photograph exhibition

The PEI Farm Centre in Charlottetown will host an exhibition of paintings and photographs, Chaos Corralled: Art Harvested from the Heart of Havoc, by Belle River artist Wendy Jones from May 20 to June 30. All are welcome to attend the free opening reception on May 20 at 7 pm. Jones will demonstrate fluid art techniques and those who want to dive into the pour painting experience will be able to produce their own miniature painting and take it home.

Jones says the primary focus in creating pieces for this show “was to surrender to tumult during the creative journey. By embracing chaos, I was able to fully appreciate the process of pushing my creative limits, wresting a beautiful, thought-provoking, and/or fanciful piece of work into existence using techniques that embrace chance and confusion rather than barriers bound by dictated styles.“

In a world that feels disordered and destabilized, where familiar rules and structures no longer make sense, Jones, through the work, argues that even in that chaos, there’s creative potential—an opportunity to adapt, persevere, and transform confusion into something meaningful and beautiful.

The exhibition can be viewed Monday–Saturday from 8 am–11 pm and Sundays from 1–8 pm. Sales can be arranged through Wendy or the office. Call 902-969-1989 or email peislandwendy@gmail.com for details.
