Easter Seals Ambassador
Rowan MacDonald begins 2026 School Tour in April

The Easter Seals PEI Ambassador’s School Tour starts its visits to Island schools on April 22. A 45-year Island tradition, the tour visits every school in the provincial Public Schools Branch and French Language School Board in just six days, ending April 29.
This year, Rowan MacDonald is the 2026 Easter Seals PEI Ambassador. He is sixteen years old and in the tenth grade at Colonel Gray High School in Charlottetown. Joining Rowan on his ambassador journey are his parents, Christopher MacDonald and stepmum, Shannon Taylor, his mom, Lisa Parent, his older sister, Paige MacDonald, and his little sister, Beatrix Taylor-MacDonald.
Rowan was diagnosed with Down syndrome when he was born, and this has been life-changing for his family. Every day, they are grateful for Rowan, and they focus intensely on his abilities, rather than his disabilities. Rowan hopes that by sharing his condition, he can help more people become aware of Down syndrome and continue to shine his light on the people he meets.
Rowan is looking forward to visiting Island schools and sharing his story and information about Easter Seals PEI, including his motto: “There is ability in every disability. We are no less. We are unstoppable.”
Rowan encourages all Islanders to consider making a donation to Easter Seals PEI, and he is excited to meet the thousands of students during the upcoming school tour. Funds raised will be disbursed to various registered charities on PEI through the organization’s annual provincial grant program.
