63rd Lebanese Levee

One of the Island’s longest-standing cultural traditions, the 63rd annual Lebanese Levee, will take place at the Delta Hotels Prince Edward in Charlottetown on January 10. Presented by the Canadian Lebanese Association of PEI (CLAPEI), this year’s celebration promises an evening of Lebanese cuisine, live performances, and cultural connection.
Since 1963, the Lebanese Levee has brought Islanders together to celebrate Lebanon’s rich heritage through food, music, dance, and community. Today, the event continues to be a cornerstone of cultural life in Charlottetown—uniting generations, honouring tradition, and offering Islanders a warm invitation into Lebanese hospitality.
This year marks a new chapter under the leadership of Nadine Haddad, the Association’s first female president. “It’s a real honour to build upon the work of those who came before us,” Haddad says. “The Levee is about connection, celebration, and creating space for future generations to carry our culture forward.”
New for 2026, guests will enjoy a Lebanese mezze-style dinner, a traditional and communal way of sharing food. The menu is crafted by Chef Pierre El Hajjar, the Delta’s new Executive Chef, who brings both Lebanese roots and culinary expertise to the event. With guidance from longtime CLAPEI member Olinda Gossen, who has led the buffet for many years, guests can expect favourites like hummus, baba ghanouj, falafel, spinach and meat pies, Fattoush, spiced potatoes, Lebanese rice, cabbage rolls, kibbe, and baklava.
The evening’s performances will offer a dynamic blend of dance and music from across the Lebanese diaspora. Entertainment includes: The Bellysimas, a Montreal-based bellydance troupe; Tony Nahas (Tabul) and Camil Yazbek (Darbuka) bringing traditional rhythms to life; singer George Shalhoub, performing classic and contemporary Arabic music; an electrifying closing dance party with DJ Eddy, an emerging Lebanese artist gaining recognition across Canada and the Middle East.
Tickets and tables are available now at clapei.ca. Islanders are encouraged to reserve early for an evening of extraordinary food, music, dance, and cultural celebration.
