Twenty-one for Islanders, led by Andrew Waite with four

The East Coast Music Association (ECMA) announced the 2022 East Coast Music Award nominees in February and PEI-based artists and industry professionals received a total of 21 Award nominations. 

Andrew Waite received four ECMA Award nominations with Solo Recording of the Year and Rock Recording of the Year for his self-titled album Andrew Waite, Fans’ Choice Entertainer of the Year, and Fans’ Choice Video of the Year for “Ain’t Goin’ Out Like That,”directed by Brendan Henry.

LXVNDR received two Award nominations including African Canadian Artist of the Year and Electronic Recording of the Year for her album Warmth. Alicia Toner also received two nominations, Rising Star Recording of the Year and Solo Recording of the Year, for her album Joan.

The 34th annual East Coast Music Awards: Festival & Conference will be held May 4–8 in Fredericton, NB.
