Cavendish Race Weekend is returning on June 20–21, bringing families together for a Father’s Day weekend in Cavendish. This year’s event will feature the Maritime Fun Group Kids Run on June 20 at Shining Waters Family Fun Park, along with the Cavendish 5K and 10K presented by Lone Oak Brewing Company on June 21.
New for 2026, the 5K and 10K races will begin at Avonlea Village before guiding participants through Prince Edward Island National Park along the scenic Cavendish Beach Trail, Dunelands Trail, and Homestead Trail. Participants will experience coastal views, wooded trails, rolling dunes, and some of the most beautiful scenery along PEI’s North Shore.
The Maritime Fun Group Kids Run is a 1K race with appearances from mascots Salty the Turtle and Bandit the Fox. Runners will receive a medal, Maritime Fun Group swag, and discounted same-day admission to either Shining Waters Family Fun Park or Sandspit Amusement Park.
The 5K and 10K events are open to both runners and walkers and offer participants an opportunity to experience the natural beauty of Cavendish while challenging themselves along the course. Participants will also receive branded medals and t-shirts to take home.
Following the races, participants can celebrate at the Lone Oak Beer Garden and enjoy a discount off food and beverage as part of the race weekend festivities.
